FIRE SPRINKLER SUPPRESSION SUPERVISION SYSTEMS AND CAUTIONS THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN
As temperatures drop due to the oncoming of winter, if you have a commercial Fire Sprinkler Suppression system, PLEASE ensure that all your staff is aware of the following:
*If the system is a WET system and you are contacted regarding a ‘low temperature supervisory or trouble condition” there needs to be an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE!
*If the system is a DRY system and you are contacted regarding a ‘low air’, ‘low temperature supervisory or trouble condition’ there needs to be an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE!
If just ONE SPRINKLER HEAD triggers (fuses), the rated amount of water that will be discharged is at least 90-gallons PER MINUTE! Having a sprinkler pipe burst can cause untold amounts of water damage!
Having a sprinkler system dump that results in shutting down the business until the damage is accounted for along with paying employees that are not there could at times be avoided by an immediate response!
Nobody enjoys getting out of bed in the wee hours, but, an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE IS REQUIRED TO AVOID DEVASTATING ISSUES!
Please ensure ALL personnel know how to respond if they are contacted by our Central Station Dispatchers AND you have the 24hour emergency contact information for your current sprinkler company!
